Lowe's Grocery Store Feeders Info Needed??

Does anyone have any experience with the 1000lb feeders that the Lowe's Grocery Stores sell? I've read on her that several people have said that the TJ Feeders that are sold there are pretty good (but the TJ brand only goes up to 650lb), but I know the Lowe's in Junction sells another brand that comes in 1000lb and I believe comes equipped with a spin tech unit.

So...any advice or experiences with them?

If it holds 1,000 and comes with a Spintech unit , sign me up. As long as it's reasonably priced that is.

I buy the winch up feeders from Lowes with Spintech spinners. Only bad thing is the standard lids. I wish they would add the top that sheds water (but all feeders have this issue).

I've bought 4 so far and have had zero issues.

I use these lids on all my feeders. Easy to install with a little rope, eye bolts and a drill. Weather proof, shed water and do not fit tight so the barrel will not sweat like a lot will with tight lids. Price is right also!

This is what the feeder looks like, but it has the INVERTED SPIN TECH unit. Does anyone have any experience with the inverted units?

TJs are excellent. We are planning to buy more. Much higher quality than the galvanized tin competition.

The guy who sells them for Lowe’s in Johnson City says he gets positive feedback on the spintec as well.

Okay I may go with those then. They are cheaper than any 1000lb feeder that I have found so far, but wasn't sure if they were worth a dang.

Why the rope and eye bolts?

I've looked at those at Lowes as well, but went with the TJ 650 instead. I was afraid the hogs would tear up that Spin Tech unit seeing as how its pretty close to the ground.

                        Can coons chew through it?

Or can it snap over the metal lid already on the feeder just to shed water?

You are talking about the one that has all the motor, battery etc enclosed in the housing correct? Those look interesting, but I have no experience with them. They are 6V I believe, so that will sway some opinions.

We've got one on a feeder, had two feeders with them at one time. It snaps on the top of the barrel. We didn't use the metal lid on the barrel and never had an issue with a coon eating through it. One has been on the feeder for 6 years that I know if and not a single issue. The other feeder was taken down, but not due to a lid failure.

I would think it would fit over the metal lid.

I drill a hole through the side of the lid and attach a rope through the hole and then tie that rope to the eyebolt that is attached to the feeder barrel below where the lid sits. I do this on 2 sides. Out here in WT and with mesquites as the only windbreak, I do this as more protection from the wind blowing the lids off. We had 40 to 50 mph winds when that from hit Saturday morning and my crank up feeder barrels were swaying even with a lot of corn in them.
