    Hunting in the rain

Who hunts in the rain? What do you do differently?

I just close my plexiglass windows and watch the deer through them

I typically move out of tree into a pop up.

Now that I'm older I tend to fall asleep when it rains on my stands tin roof.

I pull out the tree umbrella if it isn't a down pour. I tend to see lots of movement in lighter misty type of rains. If it's a down pour I typically watch the radar really close and as soon as it's starting to lighten up I head out to the tree. And obviously where a safety harness and take my time.

Love to sit on those foggy, misty, drizzly days. Heavy rain, thunderstorms....not so much.

so hunt as usual? I have a tree stand over looking a feeder and a double bull set up about 80 yards away on what looks to me to be a good trail heading to the feeder but i can't confirm this yet. Where would you sit if you wanted to kill a deer? Also what about blood trailing, do you wait or go after them reasonably quick if its a good shot?

I don't hunt in the rain. It tends to wash away a blood trail.

Good point ....But I had lots if good luck stalking in rain,,,it Appears to wash your sent away/they don't seem to see as well (maybe due to water in thre eyes)...And most of all it quiets down your walking (leaves/sticks are softened and quiet when you step on then)..Rain gear is too noisey..As long as Temp is bearable I just get wet..And someone mentioned Lightning then I head for truck or Camp too

I don't hunt in the rain. I'm just not that mad at them.

I should have said bow hunt. Rifle I see no problem.

I've only bow hunted from a tree a few times in the rain. I have 'Frogg Toggs' that repel rain pretty well. I've never tried the umbrella but I'm sure they work well. I wouldn't hunt in a down poor either way.
