    California wildfires

looks like California is getting hammered pretty hard by the wildfires from north to south.

prayers for all those killed and those who lost all.

hope Bill in San Jose isn't one of the affected.

I remember driving down the 91 to my ex girlfriends house one time while anaheim hills and Yorba Linda were on fire and the flames were right there on the edge of the freeway. It's crazy. Seems like half the state catches on fire every year or so.

Horrible. I just got married up in Calistoga this summer. Watching these updates is pretty sad to see. Looks like the entire city just got told to evacuate.

My Dad's house is in the hills kind of northeast of Napa not too far from the Atlas Peak fire. He was forced to evac from his house at 1AM Monday then had to evac again at 2:30AM from his property in town. Still waiting on updates on his house. With cell service and power outages it has been difficult trying to keep in contact with him.

I remember sitting on my Grandma's front porch watching the hills burn and the planes and helicopters dropping water and that red fire retardant trying to get it under control.

Calistoga is such an awesome place. We have been there several times and for California it is full of great people and super awesome wine. Just so sad...

I was going to post a request for prayers for those poor people in the path of the fire. The death toll is over 20 so far, and over 1,500 dwellings- in the Napa/ Sonoma counties area. It's truly devastating. Please say a prayer, especially for those guys and gals working for CalFire and fighting the monster blaze.

I'm OK, at home I'm 3 hours south of that area, and now I'm typing this sitting in a conference room in Hong Kong on a 5 day business trip (I know, I need to avoid the cargo plane home filled with rubber dog ****). When I left San Jose on Monday morning it smelled like smoke, and I'm reading this is the worst air quality on record for the SF Bay area.

So help me understand why folks dont have fire proof roofs, clear away anything taller than an inch from around the house? I mean if there is a fire coming cut down any trees that could catch your house on fire. I just dont get it unless folks either dont care, aka insurance money, or are they just that dumb?

I'm in China ready to fly home this evening. SFO had 80+ flight cancellations on Thursday but none on Friday I'm told the wind shifted. I hope I can land Saturday afternoon.

My problem is tiny compared to those in the fire area. Please say another prayer, the death toll is rising.

Theyre probably oblivious to what they can do to help them selves. California needs to do something to control the fires like control burns .
