    Covert Blackhawk Battery Issues

I've been fighting with this camera since I bought it. Originally I set it up like this:

    12 volt solar panel
    12 volt deer feeder battery
    12-6 volt converter( Amazon model)
4 rechargeable batteries in the camera

I have 2 codeblack models set up like this and the battery meter never drops from 9. On the Blackhawk it would last 2 weeks then die. I tried the eneloop pro batteries and had the same luck.

Last trip I changed out the solar panel to a 6 volt panel and removed the 12 volt battery and 12-6 converter. Panel plugged directly into the camera with 12 eneloop batteries. They worked good for about a week and then I noticed them loosing more and more charge over night. Now in the mornings they are dead and charge up to about 6-7 during the day.

    What am I doing wrong?

I have 2 set ups with the enloop rechargables and the covet solar panel that are now both going on 3 months with no issues what so ever. I can't believe I didn't do this a long time ago.

How are y'all mounting the covert panel? Looks like the coons would have a field day with it.

It's down to 1 now and was up to 6 mid day.

I use the covert solar panel and Amazon basic high capacity rechargeable aa batteries. Been out three months and still getting 100% during the days and 80% at night

Man that's odd. Got me. My three Coverts run like a top on 12 enloop pros and covert solar panel.

I tried the same approach your using.

I went with the Covert panel and 12 rechargeable AA's, both of mine made all season last year without issue. Even through the short cloudy days of December. Mine rarely shows higher than 7 for battery power but keeps going.

Oh hey, I just got a picture....gotta go.

I'll order a covert panel and see if that does the trick. Where have y'all been getting them?

I have the covert Solar panel with the covert batteries. Been running strong over a year. Zero issues. get ready to open the wallet. Solar panel is $90 and the Rechargables are $40 before shipping!

I already have the rechargeable batteries. Where did you get the panel?

I need to make something like this. Haven't taken my cam out of the box since I got it. Lease is 3hrs away so having a power source that lasts more than a week will be key
