    Electric Wood Splitter

So I am looking into getting an electric wood splitter for when I trim trees around my house. I have found some at Home Depot for around 240-300$. Does anyone have any good recommendations on brand or a place to get them around the DFW area. I do not want a gas powered one because I would probably only be using it once a year.

I usually just rent from the rental place down the street since like you, I only use one once a year, if that. That's not much help on purchasing one though!

I will look at mine when I get home. It's a 10 ton unit that splits in both directions. I paid about $1000 for it and it was delivered to the house.

Lol not looking to spend that much on one. Home Depot has one by Southland that looks like it may do the job and has some pretty good reviews.

Harbor Freight has a 10 ton manual hydraulic log splitter for around $120. I don't know anything about it, but reviews are actually above a 4!

Friend has one of the HF splitters and he does OK on the gnarly live oak limbs and mesquite---I'd have to ask him if he would buy a gas or electric model if he was doing it again.
