I talked to my biologist about it last week. I'm still probably going to go the conservation option, but he told me that the harvest option on the website will give you an estimate for the number of tags you will receive for your place if you are thinking about going that route.

The biggest thing he told me about the harvest option is that you don't have to do any habitat improvement practices or spotlight counts, but you are given a set number of spike and fork-horned tags. They aren't just combined as buck tags. And you can only shoot does and spikes in October with a rifle. Bow only for forked bucks.

Apparently the new website changes can be tricky to navigate, so our biologist is planning a day to review it with landowners if they choose to.
