    Trophies you didn't kill?

Would any of y'all have mounts or pelts in your house that you didn't kill? I have a buddy that has all kinds of pelts and stuff that someone else killed and he bought to decorate his house with. It doesn't matter to me but if I'm gonna spend money on mounts or hides I kinda want to be the one that hunted them. I do have a pelts and a snake skin that were given to me by friends of mine so I'm not against it by no means. It's just something I wondered about and what everyone else's views on it are.

I guess with me I just don't want nobody seeing a bunch of mounts and pelts hanging all over the walls in my house and telling other people I'm some great hunter and have done this or that if I never have. I don't ever in my life want to take credit for something someone else has done. Maybe I'm looking at it in the wrong way but that's just how I am about that sort of thing.

I have a MASSIVE Anaconda skin that I bought in Brazil years ago....before they would put you in prison....but it is an old one.....and another snake skin that I bought in Africa....all the bone was downed by me.

I have a quality yote pelt that I bought for a very reasonable price at a show.

I've kilt plenty of yotes but the size and fur quality in the southern half of Texas just isn't there imo.

              Family members sure
Outside of hides then probably not. Unless it was something unique for a man cave

I have a nyala hide which I think is neat but I didn't kill it

Only if it was a mount that had sentimental value from a family member or close friend. Pelts, it doesn't really matter

I only have mounts that me and my family have killed. I wouldn't want one that I just bought. They are trophies to me, not house decorations

I only have my or my wife's stuff currently, but I will honored to add certain friends shoulder mounts to my collection. Probably not all of theirs but specific certain ones will be fun especially if I had a connection to the mounts or person.

I have a few mounts from my father and grandfather. I also have a mount of a buck I watched grow for 4 years in shackelford county. He was 5.5, and was a mainframe 11 with 3 kickers that scored in the mid 150's.

I passed him at least 10 times that year, and have over half an hour of video on that buck. I was hoping he would grow a matching g-5 the following year (thus the reason for passing him), but he died after a hard rut. I found his skull/skeleton in a nearby drainage in February, and the horns were still in excellent condition. I had a cape from a cull buck in the freezer from the previous year, so I mounted his horns on the extra cape I had. I openly tell the story to anybody who asks about the deer, and I enjoy looking at him up on the wall.

I have a euro of a buck that I found ran over on the highway. The only reason was that I watched him chase does for two days where I was working. I almost hit him once myself. I tried to tell him, and I know he heard me, 'cause he stopped on the edge of the road and I talked to him about his dangerous ways. ( He didn't say anything ).

I'm the same way as y'all. I get it if you've been on a huntin trip and found a cool souvenir or had a mount passed down or given to you. Even things that you can't find where you live is understandable. Or even things you've found because....why not? They'll go to waste if you don't have them so might as well I think.

It doesn't matter to me I was just curious what y'all thought about that sort of thing. If my buddies give me a pelt or snake skin as a gift heck yeah I'm gonna hang it up.
