I retired thinking I would hunt more. Now I seem busier than ever. But even just an hour and half sit this morning was good. Back at them Tuesday evening . . .

I've sat from 10am-noon before if that was all the time I could make. You gotta do what you can. Deer move all day every day. You never know...
I hate to admit it but I smooth missed my 3rd pig of the year. We set a new stand after the morning hunt, had about 20 pigs roll in to the feeder. 3 were eating off the strip of corn I had poured. I watched them for 5 or 6 minutes hoping the one I wanted to shoot would step up but one of the lager pigs kept running, her off. Finally I said pee on it and shot at the largest one that was furthest away. I told myself to relax and aim low and what do you know, I shot right over the top of it. This just reinforces to me that I need to practice shooting from an elevated position.
Having said that, an old tripod will be set up at camp as soon as the morning hunt is over, lol.
DRT, I've been hunting out here for the past 10 years and never saw a hog at the feeder until this year. Heck, last year was the first year I saw one in the daylight out here. There was a big boar that would cross the road about 200 yards behind my feeder. He wouldn't even slow down crossing the sendero. This year things have changed and they seem to be all over the place.

You did not bend at the waist. Will cause you to miss high everytime. I'm guilty of it as well. Have to force myself to bend at the waist before I draw.
Atleast you got a shot. All I had were first time momma does and their fawns. I wouldn't feel bad shooting one, but don't need the meat right now. Maybe in 2 weeks when I run out

Gatorgar, I had not heard of bending at the waist before when shooting from an elevated position. I have a low tree stand (about 10 feet) that I will be trying to hunt hogs from. The stand is set up to shoot from a sitting position. Do you think I just need to shoot low? Will it make that much difference from that height?
Wind will be right tonight. I'll be out there shortly before sunset.

It will affect even from 10'. From a sitting position, lean into the target. When you drop your arm, your form is off and odds are you will shoot high. I do it most everytime.
