    School bus camphouse

I recently purchased a 77 passenger school bus in aneedville auction with plans to make a camphouse out of. Do any of you have anything similar? I am interested in ideas and set up. I will also have bus seats in excellent shape for sale for $50.

Not much, but keeps us warm and dry!

What size beds do you have on either side?

this has to be the most redneck thing I've ever seen but i would for sure like to have it.

It can be done but if it isn't running moving it around is challenging.
I ran a small acreage lease (750) for approximately 13 years. I totally understand keeping costs under control but allowing a member to bring one of these to the camp was a very big mistake. Long story short this member eventually left the lease and didn't take their makeshift camper with them. All they said was you can have it adios. Yes I took the lead on getting rid of it.
Hopefully no offense is taken by my comments?

This one is actually a 2008 blue bird with a running cat motor and Allison transmission . I am actually considering selling a $70k fifth wheel and replacing it with this if I can talk the wife in to it.

Cool idea. Let your mind run wild on this one, could be all kinds of ways to set it up on the inside.

Twin size beds on both sides. It's been on our lease since 1980's and has served our group, as well as many others before us well.
Our location is very remote and without electricity and our camp is less than 5 miles from the Mexico border so to invest any more would be a waste. It keeps us warm during our week long hunt and keeps us out of tents which makes me happy.
No offense taken as yes, it is 100% redneck, but gets the job done.

There was someone on here a while back that outfitted a school bus into a camper and did a very nice job.

Check this out. I looked at doing a bus in the past...did a shipping container instead.

                  post up some pics.

Go to YouTube and type in "school bus conversion" and you will have a ton of videos to watch and get ideas from.

I had 2 school buses with a closed in walk way between them one bus was the kitchen and living area the other was for sleeping and bathroom/shower. It worked very well a little cramped but it served the purpose.

We had a fish camp on the Red River that was an old school bus. Drove it down in the spring, drove it back at end of summer. A long while back, but I remember beds on each side with storage underneath that doubled as seating for the suspended eating table. Table was plywood suspended from the ceiling by small chains. Worked pretty well. Lots of beer drank and lots of catfish were eaten off that table !

Since it is a school bus and has airbrakes, do you have to have a cdl to drive it?

We had an Old School Bus that just had the seats pulled out set along a nice creek in Kansas growing up . I could not even guess how many hundreds of times we camped in it over the years , and Loved It .
