Anyone have any info on the WMA? Not looking for your honey hole just looking for whatever info you'd like to give. Thinking about giving it a go this year bowhunting. Thanks

Kaw Lake as in Oklahoma? I did a job in Ponca City a few years ago and there are some great deer out there. I was able to hunt some private ground on the Arkansas River below the dam a couple miles. I didn't kill a deer but it was only because I was looking for a monster. The river below the dam has some amazing striper fishing as well. No experience hunting the WMA but wouldn't mind getting back that way to hunt. -

Cool area for sure with some monsters. I was here from July-December. The old man that owned the RV park I stayed in owned close to 500 acres, probably not more than 3 miles from the lake on the river below the dam and he gave me permission to hunt. I e always wanted to go back. Didn't know the lake had public hunting.Comment

Lived in Ponca for 16 years. We still have a decent amount of land in kay/Osage county. I've never actually hunted the wma but I have buds that still do. Osage county is known for big deer and lots of people know it. I think if you do your homework and put in the time you have a pretty good shot at a nice buck. I have 2 170 class on my wall from only about 5 miles from there but that was from mid 1990'sComment
