Well we just got back from our group hunt at the Baker 3 Ranch and we had a great couple days. The bucks are just starting to go into rut. The weather was hot 92-94 degree's but the 15-20 mile wind really made it pleasant and made the spot and stalk hunting a bit easier. I had several TBHers on this hunt and we cannot wait to go back next year.
SKylar SChultze get the award for shortest hunt. He arrived at the ranch with the rest of us on Thursday at 12 noon and by 4pm he has his first axis buck down. Dan Dowdy connected the second day with his first axis buck. Dan was doing good until Adam rolled in with his awesome 34-1/2 stud. I waited until the last morning to connect with mine.

Overall we shot 6 axis bucks but lost 1. We also connected on 4 axis does and a Corsican ram. As always we had several misses and gave everyone a hard time about it. OVerall is was an awesome couple of day filled with plenty of fun and fellowship. We saw a ton of axis. The big ones are here but they are smart. This is not Canned hunt. 22,00 aces of mostly low fence. I am hope everyone made it home safe and l have already booked us again for next year.
