    Painting a Bow

Recently picked up a used Hoyt Vector 32 and a Bowtech Assassin. I'm wanting to paint these or have them dipped. Looking for some recommendations on how to go about painting them. Type of paint process etc.

Well as far as I've heard I'm not sure on the method of painting the limbs, however with the riser you can paint it pretty easily. A buddy of mine got his powder coated and came out fantastic. I would say as with painting anything, disassemble the whole bow so it's in separate pieces. Sandblast if you can, or at least rough up the original paint coat. Paint in small layers, or dip would be my recommendation. Dipping would probably be your best option, just so you can get an even coat. Unless you can pay to get it powdercoated that'd be a great option as well, better color choices.

What're you wanting to do color wise?

The limbs are what I'm mostly concerned with and looking for experience with. From what I've read through Google search auto paint with a flex agent works well on the limbs but no pictures of how it holds up down the road a few months.

The assassin is going to be Merica'd out. Red white and blue strings and cables and rest. Had a red white and blue wrist along made for it. Then wanting the top limb and top 1/4 of the riser to be blue with stars then the rest of the riser and lower limb to be red and white striped.

The vector 32 I haven't really decided on anything for it so it'll probably end up being all dipped.
