    Not my typical knife.

I decided to do something different this morning; not the typical Jank Custom Knife. I guess my military background is hard to leave behind. I put this guy together this morning. I’ll make the sheath tomorrow after hitting the golf course. It’s 1/8 1084 8 ½ OAL blade is 4” with camo G-10 scales. Pinned with two 5/16 corby bolts and ¼ “ brass flared tube for lanyard. Both cutting edges are razor sharp.. I think I’ll call this guy the “Sarge”

Good question; I think machetee are illegal to carry too but people own them. Actually most tactical knifes are beyond the legal carry limit.

Jank never said anything about carrying the knife in public. Beautiful knife, man. I would love to introduce that to a wild boar.

I actually had that in mind too; I do a lot of pig hunting and the blade is made to have less resistance penetrating between bone.

I don't choot em first so I'm not worried about killing a pig with it; I'll leave that to you young guys. At my age I might break a hip.

Anybody have any thoughts on using old files for blades?

I'm all for it, especially if you can get the files for free or for a dollar at a pawn shop. The only thing to watch out for is that some files are case hardened and won't make a good knife. It's best to heat treat a test piece to make sure it'll harden up before investing time making a knife with it.
