I traveled to Colorado for the archery antelope season opener. On August 13th, we arrived late that evening & got some rest so we could put in some long hours scouting water holes. On the 14th, we spent most of the day on the prairie in southeast Colorado looking for sign at water holes. The prairies were unusually green and there was water everywhere. I picked a water hole with lots of sign and set myself up for a 20-40 yard shot. On August 15th, I was sitting in a ground blind at a water hole for eight hours. Out to my right hand side, I saw an antelope buck walking slowly towards me at 500 yards. He would stop to look around, walk, stop, then look around. It was 97 degrees so I knew he was ready to get a drink. I kept ranging his distance to get an accurate shot. Once he arrived at the water hole, I ranged him one last time while he got a drink of water. At 40 yards, he looked up & when he put his head down to get another drink...the rest is history! Gotta watch the video!

What groundblind were you using? Was it brushed in? Public or private?
