    Arrow ? new to archery

    Hi guys,

I just finished the fall semester for college and finally have time to shoot my bow. I have a PSE Evo 7 set at 63lbs with a draw of about 27''. I am wanting to get some new arrows but I am lost and don't know what to really use. I eventually want to start hunting for turkey, hogs, and deer. It there an arrow you would recommend (I have been using victory vforece v6 350 grain w/a field tip for practice and really like them). Is this a decent arrow to be using? Any advice/suggestions are appreciated.

    Thanks

Black Eagle makes a great arrow for not a lot of $$$$.

Nothing wrong with victory arrows at all. I've shot them and had no problems. Depending on your arrow length, you're probably right on the bubble of a 400 spine, but if your 350's are tuned, rock on !!!

You might get multiple responses on what brand of arrow to shoot, but victory makes a reputable arrow.

Nike, reebok, adidas, all personal preference within the application you will use them for

This! Took the words right out of my mouth!

It's far more important that you arrows are spined correctly and have enough weight than what brand you shoot.

Measure your arrow length(no point) and use this chart, it will let you know where you should be at spine wise.

thanks for all of the advice, I do have a question for the arrow measurement. Is it from inside the knock groove to the end of the arrow w/o a tip/broadhead?

Yes. That is pretty much the industry standard today

Find out what your arrow length will be and find out what spine you need erring to the stiff side and look at Gold Tip XT Hunters in black. About the best value for the dollar you can find. Cannot ever recommend Victory arrows as I could never get them to tune and I was not the only one to have problems with them, and Indo have a little experience tuning and setting up bows!

I love my victory arrows but mine are the vaps and they are tough.

I have the most confidence in the Easton Axis Full Metal Jackets. The weight really drives them deep.

gold tip arrows are the toughest I've shot also if your near a bass pro shops you can get their redhead arrows they are only $60 a dozen and made by gold tip.
