My dad gave me the machine he used to put food on our table for YEARS! It's been sitting up for several years with fuel in it.

First thing I did today was remove all the plugs, main fuel line, fuel filter and old battery. I'm gonna need a new insulator, some carburetor work and the fuel tank lined. Work in progress, but it's gonna be fun!!!

I told him about it and he didn't seem like he cared anymore. Of corse that was a different time in his life, he hasn't welded in many years.

It needs a new hood for sure. I'll do paint and body after I get it running right.

By the way, I am by no means, a mechanic! I will take any/all advice or criticism. I'm gonna try and do some work to her today.

Drained, flushed and filled the radiator. Drained the oil, but I can't seem to get the filter off. Filled it with 30W, and cleaned the oil debris filter too. I'm trying to get the gas tank clean right now. About to put the new battery back in and see if it will turn over. Anyone happen to know the plug gap on these?

Gas tank looks great(big relief), rinsed it out and remounted it. Ran new fuel line with new filters. Put a little oil in each cylinder to free them up. At first, it wouldn't turn over. After letting them soak for a lite while, it turns over just fine. Fresh gas and some sea foam and we're crankin!! No fire yet, had to bring the wife into town for some stuff, I work tomorrow and we leave for the ranch Friday morning. I'll get back to it early next week. Problems: I hear a knock on one of the cylinders and I have fuel leaking from just above the carb. And I'm missing one of the insulators. Click image for larger version
