    Spine for Flu-Flu arrows

How important is it to have the spine spot on with Flu-Flu arrows. Fletched with 6-5" feathers. I was looking at building a pile of them and found some arrows for free that would be close to being correct based on Stu's calculator.

I don't know the answer to that one. When I make flu-flus, I just use some of the same shafts that I normally shoot.

Flu Flus make the spine less critical to accuracy, but I'm still a believer in matching spine as close as I can to what the bow needs with any arrow.

If you ever have an arrow break due to being weak in spine you'll know why I believe that way, especially if it puts part of that arrow through your forearm. Been there, done that. Got the tee shirt, and don't want another.

They are full metal jackets. And based on the FMJ'S that I normally shoot these will be about 15 grains light up front. These could end up being one or two shot arrows as I might duck hunt with them this season. Since it will be on a pond most likely will not get them back. So do not want to spend a lot of money on them.

Those will work for you Glenn.
If your going to shoot ducks a little longer out, than lets say you would with squirlls or rabbits, then a little lighter wont hurt you,you can add some tip weight . The flu flus will slow the arrow down a whole lot faster which will change your point of impact that you are used to seeing much past 12 yds anyway. Other than that Ducks will Die.
Sounds like a blast ! and Good luck

The drag on the large feathers will help stabilize the arrow.

If they are FMJ, then you already spent a bunch of money on them!

I want to duck hunt with my bow!!!!!

Glenn, that sounds awesome on the duck hunting. I would love to try that sometime. I guess it can't be any more expensive than my steel shot. If you want to head up to OK to try it on some pond mallards and maybe a Canada or two, let me know.

Bisch - they were given to me free. They actually ended up being 340's which is what is called for and what I shoot. So now I have 15 ready to go.

TC I might take you up on that.
