DIY folks -ever build something using "Kee Klamps?"

I stumbled across these things while looking for something else and the DIY wheels started turning. Kee Klamps are fittings that you can use to make all kinds of stuff out of pipe. They have dozens of connectors -elbows, T's, 3 ways, 4 ways, wall and floor flanges, etc. They make different sizes for different size pipe. For lighter duty projects you can use aluminum fence posts or "top rail" made for chain link fencing. My first two projects are going to be a simple bench for my drill press, chop saw and grinder, similar to this:

I'm also considering building this floating bookcase for an upstairs bedroom:

Lots of good design ideas here:
Simplify your DIY projects & engage your imagination with pipe and fittings. Need a long-lasting pipe handrail? Need it ADA compliant? We have that too.

Metal "PVC" fittings that use set screws instead of epoxy? Cool.

ouch! Would galvanized malleable fittings/nipples work? Maybe these have a very nice finish, hence the extra cost?

Yeah they are pretty expensive. Looks like they are mostly sold for commercial applications - handrails and architectual stuff but people use them for all kinds of other projects.
