    Crappie Jigs

I've been tinkering with jigs after watching a couple of You Tube vids and reading TFF topics. I ordered some materials and bought some from the local craft stores. There are lots of others I've done, but these are the better ones.

I'm anxious to give them a good workout on area lakes. Think they'll work?

That's something I've never done or understood. If I'm gonna fish with a minnow, I just hook one behind the dorsal fin or in the lips and forget the jig. When I don't have minnows (most of the time), I like tight lining jigs all by themselves.

Shoot Yeh!! I'd buy em if they were in the store. Those look way better than what I see at local stores. I've always wanted to try that myself. How much $ you got tied up in getting started?

Now, you have found your knack. That white one with a hint of blue tail should work good. They look good. Redbuds are blooming.

Well, probably more than I should as I like to experiment with colors (lol). The vise is an old fly tying thing I bought in a kit a few years back. I get some supplies from a craft store but most come from a fishing supply vendor.

Here's today's result (before the 20mph norther blew in). All 9 caught on these two jigs in about 14' over a brushpile. Seven were males (or empty females).

Aw, come on Ol Thumper. I really want to go to Hugo with ya one of these years!

Can't beat that and nothing wrong with the jigs when they produce. The sickle hooks are really good, but they are not forgiving when snagged such as the others.

                              Very Nice indeed!
