    Question for the broadhead makers

When you cut or grind out a metal broadhead, how are you keeping the metal from getting to hot? I've never cut a piece of metal that didn't get hot.

I am not cocerned about it at that stage because I will harden it after it is profiles and beveled.

You could always cut them out with a hack saw. I use an angle grinder and a cutoff wheel. Doesn't get that hot really. You could always spray it with water frequently. My understanding is that high carbon must reach 325-400 F before it is annealed (softened) any.

OK so the metal has to get pretty hot before it's affected. Thanks!
I have a grinder. I will get some of the cut off wheels for it.

Thinner wheel, less friction, less heat. Thinnest I have found are labeled as 1/32. Wear safety glasses

Sounds good. I've gotten into a build it myself thing lately. Saw your broadheads and that really got me to going. I'm in the process of building a longbow right now.

I'm taking it slow on the bow build. Been watching several instructional videos. Got it rough cut out right now. Next is to start rasping the wood down.
