I just muzzyfied my first deer off this lease. Here's the story.
Sitting in an old brush blind that I found last weekend, been here since right at 6am. I baited it out with Buck Candy laced corn last week, then refreshed it this morning, putting the kill piles behind cactus so I could draw. Sure comes in from about 60 yds, seems like it takes forever for her to pick her way over here. She hung up at an old fence line for a couple minutes, then decided to hop over. I came to full draw while she was jumping, as I put some cedar limbs up to give me cover when they came to the crossing. She hit the ground at a steady pace and went straight to a kill pile.....facing straight at me, no shot. She stood there, eating, for a timed 21 minutes, then, turned to leave. As she was walking away, she stopped for one last bite, prefect broadside and I slung a muzzy tipped easton axis 400 at her. At first I thought it was going to be low, but she ducked right into it and the shot looked great. Shot was fired at 0726, I'm giving her 30 minutes then I'm going to go track. Wish me luck for a shot track and short drag, I'll post pics when I find her.
