    Is my limb cracked? Pic

I was thinking about selling my 2006 Diamond Rapture I haven't shot it in
about 2 yrs, so I got it out to give it a good look and take pics so I could
put it in the classifieds. To my horror, I saw what appears to be a crack in
the top limb! It looks to be deeper than the camo finish and when I scratch
my fingernail across it, it feels like it catches the nail pretty good. I
dont see any splintering, but Im scared to shoot it, and I dang sure aint
gonna sell it like this. Take a look. What do you think?

The irritating part is, I looked everywhere for the receipt last night and cant find it anywhere. I found the owners manual. This bow was just my backup, so I'm not really out anything other than what I could have sold it for.

This is covered under the manufacturer warranty. Bowtech is a good company and you won't need a receipt. Any reputable pro shop will take care of it for you.

Limbs do crack no matter the brand. It is not the manufacturer, so don't blame them. I have seen four cracked limbs- one on a Hoyt, one Mathews, one PSE, one Alpine and this one makes five.

I'm not angry about it. Last night i googled cracked bow limbs and found threads and pics from all the manufacturers that i know of, a couple i'm not familiar with. I definitely would like it to be fixed, but as long as they arent jerks about it, im good. ( i dont expect em to be jerks). From what I have read, most of the time they fix it, no problem.

Hope they take care of it for you--only cracked limb I've seen is on my Mathews Outback and it wasn't a manufacturer's defect as the pull-up rope broke as I was lowering the bow and it fell on a limestone ledge--but $$$ later I was back in business.

Yep it cracked. I have not had any dealings with Bowtech but I had the same thing happen to a High Counrty bow once and they sent new upper and lower limbs and paid the pro shop to fix it. Bowtech is a good compnay and should fix-it with no argument.IMO

If you take it to a shop you didnt buy it from, they may charge you some labor to fix it, If its the place you bought it from then they shouldnt. But they still might. Just depends on the shop.

Not so sure I have the guts to dry fire it, or any bow! Heck, I'm scared to even draw it! Im embarrassed to say it, but I bought it at Gander Mtn. ( I have since personally boycotted gander for other reasons). I"ll start there, and see where it takes me. I figure they'll send me to a real shop.
