    help in young county

I hunt on my bosses land about 3 miles out of graham and I seen only one buck and two does last season and I feed corn nothing eats it. What is the deal

It could be that there's too much native forage available.

Or - it could be there's no wildlife on the place.

If all else fails try to use some alfalfa feeders to see what kind of results you may have or maybe like Eskimo2 said No wildlife on the place....

More seriously, how big's the place, what's around it, etc. Maybe more info will help us diagnose your situation.

I wouldn't think the cows are the whole problem, but they won't help. I have seen many a deer in pastures with cows, even seen them eating together on corn fed roads. I think there just may be no game in the immediate area. I'd say to keep feeding and see what happens. Once a deer or two find your feed they'll start coming around. This just may be a more long term project for you. Be patient. Good luck.

Cows are not the problem. How big are the fields? If they are large, the deer might not come out until late to them. They probably have plenty of food and other wheat fields around there. When did you setup your feeder? If you setup late, deer may not be used to it. Last year was a bad year for many. Lots of oaks means lots of acorns.

If you are basing anything on LAST season in Young County I can tell you it sucked! I had a ton of cam pics at night but hardly anything during legal shooting hours. Try setting up a game cam and see if those numbers change. This year is looking good on our place between Graham and Jacksboro with lots of pics during daylight and night time hours. Good horn development and deer looking healthy.

The fields are about 30 acres together. I have had my feed there for three years and nothing to speak of comes to it I had a 5 point coming regularly last season.before I had cows the season before I trapped 11 does and a 11 point buck in hog traps and still did not get many pics at my feeder.iam going to put another feeder on the other side of the land and see what happens.

If there is a heavy acorn crop, deer will not come to feeders...hunt the oak flats where the most activity of deer feeding is taking place.

You might want to rethink on what you are baiting in your hog traps to avoid catching deer. Using Hog Urine (Hog-in-Heat) soaked on a towel or burlap sack at the trap door will deter deer from entering and also using sour milk as your bait instead of corn or any kind of grains.
