    range finder

any one got one close to austin i can use for a day hate to spend 200.00 just to set my feeder 20 yards from my tree stand

I just stepped 60 feet from the base of the tree, but I was also only 12' up and after I got a rangefinder it was only 21 yds so its close enough. Every 2 natural steps is about 5 feet.

Set your target where you think 20 yards is, drill it a few times, and set your feeder there.

I'm a golfer so I have pretty good 1 yard steps. Get a yard stick and see what it feels like to take a 1 yard step and then do it 20 times. It is actually a very accurate way to measure yardage.

I would just measure it out with a tape measure. Than again, you're at an angle so it's a pain I was thinking of getting one. I know on the countless of videos I've seen Hogdude1234 in, he uses one (or I assume he does with the loop around his neck )

Also the 200 bux will eventually be worth it in the long run. I have my feeders at 20 yds and sometimes my only shot is offered at 30 because they come in straight ahead, so when they stop thier body is in line with the feeder. I know I wouldn't have gotten a shot at one last year unlesss I had it.
