        Pss elm tree. My Grandmother used to take twigs about the size of that one in your hand from those trees, chew the end until it was frayed, and dip it into her Garrett snuff and chew on it. She called them her "tooth brushes."

                    ol' folks used to call 'em pi s s ellum's... Got leaves similar to a "arnwood" (ironwood)... ain't good fer nuthin'... won't even burn worth a flip in tha farrplace...

                      Id say elm too. If its in the bottom...Id say American Elm. If its upland...Id say Cedar Elm. The Cedar Elms around my hood have slightly smaller leaves. If the leaf in your hand is about the largest...Cedar Elm...IMO.

                        If the leaves are rough on top like a cat tongue its cedar elm. If they are smooth it is a winged elm.

                              Natures velcro. I use several leaves stuffed in my string tracker to retain my string.

                              When the leaves get dry and cracked theyre harder to get out of high pile fleece clothing than beggars lice.
