Looks like a regular water snake to me. I am not sure their official name but the ones that aren’t cotton mouths I just call a water snake...but I don’t ever ask for them to let me look into their mouths to be certain LOL!

Looks like a Cottonmouth aka Water Moxkin as we say in Texas lol Think I can see "pits" hard to tell in that light as there is a banded water snake that is patterned very similar

See Pits ? It don't have a head ! I say water snake, don't have a stump tail. But really don't matter now he's dead.

It has a head...barely but its head is still on its body. Here is where Im seeing the pits, or what looks like pits in the lighting and enlargeing the picture

Yes, and keeled scales. I’m infested with them.

He was very aggressive with out being instigated.

Looks like most think it’s a cottonmouth, google pics really are inconclusive.
