Default Coyote stomach

Shot this yote yesterday morning. While my brother was cleaning a deer I decided to check his stomach to see what he had been eating.

His stomach was full of the red cactus pears. I've heard of them eating these before just surprised when I found them.

I can believe it, would you rather wait all day to chase an animal down and possibly fail or eat whats easy and all around you which also can't run from you .

Coyotes are opportunistic feeders. Cactus tunas, cedar berries, grasses, all kinds of animals alive or dead. That's why they are so prolific, they can adapt to anything...

Not his mouth I have respect for. They eat those hear all the time. When you see their poop it's red and full of thorns. That would be a squat to remember.

No wonder he died. Like the Indians used to say, " another word for vegetarian, is bad hunter."
