Default game warden issues

we had an issue with rick lane a few weeks ago in our camp in marion county. he was screaming at everyone, called everyone liars, and was completely dissrespectful to the entire group of adults. is there a number to call when things like this happen?...it was over a deer shot the evening before by another hunter that had already taken it home...completley legal and ethical. this isnt the first problem with this guy. the other game warden we have is as nice as can be...

Everyone has a supervisor, and the numbers for the regionals are on the TPWD web site.

Just call one of them. If it is not the correct one, I am sure they will direct you to the right one.

If that's the office that covers Longview, then yes, call them.

Sounds like an issue that needs to be reported for sure.
He will eventually walk into the wrong camp with that attitude and it won't be good..

he actually made the guys at camp call the man that shot the deer the day before and meet him with the head and tag...it was all bs. the guy really didnt mind since he had done nothing wrong. no citations were issued however he did threaten to throw everyone in the camp in jail if they didnt come up with the deer...

Wow, I fear his career (and maybe his life) will be short is he carries that attitude with him everyday.
Walking into hunting camps where firearms are there and liquor and drinking highly likely and screaming at folks is not good.

There really isn't any need to act unprofessional. If there is an issue with a certain deer(how did he know about it,if it wasn't in camp?)then he probably needs to address the hunter that took it.

Sounds like he's got something to prove. Luckily he hasn't made it to our camp this year (knock on wood). But your right about the other game warden in Marion co he's nice as can be. I'll be following this one to see how it turns out.

I'd definitely call Regional HQ and lodge any sort of complaint you can. How did he know the deer had been shot the day before? Story is confusing.

Just when you do call makes sure you have all the facts straight and place it out there in a rational calm polite manner. You will get more response this way, plus remember if he gets in trouble but not moved and finds out it was your place that did it he will be on you like flies on crap.

x2, Even if you are correct, if you are insulting or disrespectful it will discredit you. Just stay calm and keep emotions at bay and tell your story respectfully. Just have you and your buddies be prepared to pull out a cell phone and film your next encounter with him. Might keep him at bay too.

Do not call his Captain. Call the Chief at headquarters. Or call the Governor..."stuff" flows downhill faster and harder. A call to the Captain from his supervisor will get more action than a call from you.

We had a similar situation in RR county, my uncle called and reported it and haven't seen the GW since. He is still the county GW but is trying to transfer to a new county We have always been nothing but respectful towards all GWs but when they disrespect us it makes it difficult.

Wow, I work for the agency and that is severe attitude and entirely uncalled for. Why would it matter if a hunter has legally taken a deer or any game, tagged it properly, etc. and left - there's no reason to threaten the other individual's in camp or even have the hunter return to camp.

I'll be interested on how this comes out.

There used to be a maniac game warden in Hamilton county several years back as well. He'd go on a tear yelling and screaming, turn bright red and was completely out of control. Story goes that he finally had a massive heart attack on the job, and died instantly.

First time I ran across him, we were dove hunting a cut field of milo, and he was threatening to haul everyone off to jail for hunting over a baited field.

He was the first game warden I ever saw behave like that, nearly 25 years ago now and I still remember him.
