We have a pipe wired between a fork in the old mesquite tree by the camp...has worked well for the 9 years we have hunted there...

We built one a few years ago for our lease in Illinois, we took 2" and 2 1/4" square tubing and made it, the bottom frame is shaped like a u, with metal rollers on the rear, on the bottom if the u in center we put a 3ft piece of 2 1/4 tubing and took a 8ft piece of 2" a side down on the inside of it. Built our top bar with fully and drilled holes so we can adjust the height if needed, mounted a winch on it and let it bump, works great

This is ours. Its an old motor hoist with 2 boat winches attached to the top, concrete pad. Anything not secured into the ground - your just asking for trouble IMO.

This is one we built and lucked into the scaffolding bottom. It makes for a very dry, no messes cleaning. Bases are bolted to the scaffolding and the scaffolding is some heavy, heavy stuff. We got the winches and hooks cheap at Harbor Freight.
