Has anyone tried to convert an American Hunter feeder so you can use a standard 6 volt rechareable battery (with the male posts) vs. the spring post batteries? Im thinking all I should have to do is take it apart and solder some wires to the back of the battery panel and connect them to the male posts. I hAve never really had good luck with the spring batteries plus I can get the batteries with the male posts for free. Any thoughts on this idea would be appreciated. Thanks

Good question. I recently bought one and placed it in the field about 60 days ago. I really liked the zapper to fend off the corn thieves. But so far I have had mixed results with the spring tops. On my third battery swap and the current one seems to be holding up. I am also curious about making a mod as you described. Let me know if it worked out for you.
