I've been way for about 4 days for my uncle's funeral, and just spent the last couple of hours catching up. Congratulations on all your trophy's and you did an outstanding job on the pics and story. I felt like I was in the hide with you the entire time. I have never really wanted to go to Africa, but after reading all this, I now have a fire starting to burn inside of me with the desire to experience the Dark Continent. If I had the funds, I would definitely go.

Thanks, but not all, bud! That's the best part about this site is seeing other's experiences. I look forward to reading a hunting report from you in the future!!!!!

Michael, I got to say that your gifted with a great talent, not only being a great bowhunter but also the way you are able to put your hunts into words. You made me feel like I was back there so much that I could see, smell, and feel all that South Africa has.

I am glad they were able to find you bushbuck. The bushbuck like you said is the closest thing to our whitetails. That is one thing about a good outfitter over there, they will do everything they can to find your animal.

Thanks again and congrats and a very successful hunt.

Wow, great recap, I just successfully wasted a couple hours at work going through all 30-plus pages! Where the hell have I been to miss this story!? Congrats on an awesome hunt. One thing, were you doing all the video yourself? The still frames of the shots are priceless.

I tried self-videoing all of mine shots but only ended up with two kills. Hats off to you on an all-world recap. You guys will be lucky to get a handful of pics and a brief summary once I get around to messing with all my pictures.

Guys,

I just finished reading this entire thread word for word and discovered one of my post is missing in regards to the lion hunt. As I was writing the story, it was common to go back and read the comments that everyone posted after I had.

However, I usually did not reread what I just posted other than proofing it prior to posting. The very first shot on the lion is not there. I guess the post did not go through and I never noticed. I just continued posting the story.

The very first shot at the lioness was a miss. It hit slightly just below her. I apologize for this error, but again never noticed it until reading it now.

Again, Thank You! It’s hard to thank everyone personally for their kind words on this thread without adding another 14 pages, but I truly enjoyed sharing this with all of you and appreciate all the positive feedback.

Michael

You did a great job on everything from my vantage point, even wright down to acknowledging the wiffy!! Truly a class act in my book. I plan to go after i pay off my truck in 2014, with the consent of my spouse, I could only hope and pray that she understands the drive and compassion that we as bowhunters have. Not to kill, but to be one with the outdoors and see nature anywhere else other that the nature channel.

Way to go!!!!
