Default Netflix Questions

Anyone use it? Pros? Cons?

I'm hoping to test drive the ability to stream to the Wii. Anyone tried that?

Thanks in advance.

Dont have it set up to stream yet but go through about 8 -10 movies a month. Never had an issue with them and the only con is trying to remember to put them back in the mail box.

No streaming here ....we just do the DVDs, but I have nothing but praise here as well. We watch about 6-8 movies a month..(usually two on a Friday or Sat night) and it has been a great tool for us to see all the good flicks when we want to see them.

My wife has a subscription. She always has a new movie to watch. I hacked her account once and ordered the Phil Mickelson short game DVDs. You can only have one DVD at a time, so she was peeved.

We've done the Wii (and PC) streaming thing several times. Works great.

I rarely watch movies, so I don't really care. When you can stream them on the Wii, why buy more though?

LOVE IT!

Pros: lots of movies
easy to use
my kids love it
the DVD system turn around is super fast
i can stream to laptop (the kids on the TV; i can watch Spartucus on my laptop)

Cons: (have to add some)most of the streamable movies are older(new movies are DVD only)
never get to watch it cause it has every durn drake and josh, waverly place, barney etc show so my kids are always on it
you will think about cuttin off DISH cause you never watch it anymore. I havent cause I cant wait for the new Criminal Minds to come on the fall!

I stream to the Wii. Lot's of good older movies to watch. The new releases are mainly by mail, but you would be surprised at some them that are available to watch instantly. The picure quality is so-so because the Wii will only push 480p, and that makes it a little grainy, but over all my kids love it, not to mention some of the older movies I enjoyed as a kid that I get to watch with them without digging them out of the 2 for 10 dollar bin at Wally world.

I think it sucks personally, 2 reasons....just my opinion by the way

1. When I first signed up and had the 2 week trial I could get any movie I wanted, any new release would be available right then. After the 2 week trial (when they get the money) all the sudden most, not all but most of the new releases went to short/long wait, especially on blu-ray My theory is they send all the new releases to the trial customers to entice them to sign up, its a good strategy, but leaves the paying customers on the wait list. Maybe I read in to it to much.

2. The streaming is a very cool idea, but the movies are mostly all older titles that I would never even think about watching. The TV series were cool, but also in the older class. You can get some newer shows but not many, like I said, very cool service with crap selection.

i stream and get the movies, only complaint about stream is there are less choices/options and new movies take a long time to make it to the streaming portion (not to stream, just to be available for stream)

We LOVE it! Get to put all the upcoming movies we want to see in our waiting file and then they get shipped to us as soon as they come out. Send it back in and within a couple days we have another one to watch. If it sits on the counter for 2 weeks before we watch it , oh well.

We've talked about getting it streamed to the Wii. My concern is that the Wii doesn't go through HDMI so it couldn't be in hi def could it?

Have it and love it, still have dish, but no movie channels. great to take to the ranch on those hot summer days after throwing out feed. one price a month no matter how long you keep it or how many you watch a month. turn around is about 4 working days. Only had one that was shipped and I never received it, they just sent me another one no questions asked, go the movie with in 2 days of talking with them....

I resisted Netflix for a long time because I thought it was a waist of money. Now that we have it I can never imagine getting rid of it. I bought the dongle for my internet ready TV and stream netflix. It's great...

We cancelled satellite tv when I was out of work and got netflix with DVDs which we love and still get 2 per week. It's a local company here in the San Jose area.

Love it. We did the 2 DVDs at a time, and don't trade them in much. However, we watch the heck out of the Watch Instantly via Computer and via Xbox 360. The streaming is pretty dang cool. I've torn through the first two seasons of lost in the past month or so since I never saw a single episode while it was on

Waiting anxiously on the iPhone 4 app ....

Never had an issue with getting Netflix new releases and we've had the service for 2+ years....not so sure about about that theory...

I've had the 3 dvd package for 8 months now and pay about $18 a month.

To give you an example of how new a release you can get on dvd....I just got Depp's "Alice in Wonderland" for my girls yesterday .
