guadalupe river floatable this weekend????

if anyone knows of any places that are open please let me know. I have 8-10 buddies coming from out of town and we planned on floating thre guadalupe on friday but the Rockin R is completely under water.

Anyone who has any info PLEASE SHARE!!!!

Lower Guad is flooding right now. Look at going upriver, this is what our group is going to do this weekend. Bergheim's is a nice camp on the river with shuttle service, rentals etc. Good luck!

The water should be back down but while I was at lunch, my buddy got a text from his buddy who was at the river right now. He said the water rose so fast because of all the rain over night that he lost his car and all his camping gear to the water

Supposedly they got 8-10" in that area.

yea Mark I just saw that!!! crazy, at bergheim I just called and the guy said its fine!! i really liked Rockin R tho in NB but that is not an option any longer

You will have to do the upper. Try Guadalupe Canoe Livery at the 281/Guadalupe bridge. It's a nice run from Spects Crossing to Rebecca Creek Crossing.

I called Bergheim campgrounds and it is a 3 hour float. Anyone know of any outfitters farther upstream to make a 4-5 hour float

Those tube companies in Gruene are havin a bad run of luck. Two years of drought, they finally get enough water in Canyon Lake to be guaranteed a good summer and their tubes/buildings wash away in a flood.

I just came from Lake Placid (Guadalupe River) in Seguin--at the I-10 bridge, and it is up in lakeside homes' yards, and boathouses aren't far from floating away. Wish y'all would keep some of the water upstream.

You can float from Bergheim to the State park (8 river miles) but that might take a loooong time on a tube with the river where it is now. Or you can float from the park to Specht's crossing which is about 5 river miles. Here's another great source for river info:

Bubbas is still there but his big DECK is gone

Look at Whitewater Rocks . com. Its at the horseshoe in Satler. They just posted on FB that they are already Tubing there again. The water will be back to normal in a day. It just came way to fast last night. It started at midnight and rained over 5 in an hour till almost 6 this am. Water flow on the river in sattler is under 300 gfs and in sequin its over 15000 cfs last time I checked. I was worried I was going to get a call to go help with the search and rescue but it went down as fast as it came up.

Please send up a prayer for all involved, I have been informed that there were people lost in this flood!!!

The flow where Whitewater is is back below 300 cfs. Here was a post oon FB about 30 min ago. We are going out there tomorrow night for a concert. Their phones may be down still.

Yeah the way the horseshoe is you can walk about a half mile and float the shoe all day . My only concern with going way down river is river road is supposedly pretty trashed and they may not have places to pick u up if you get to far down river. They have a great map there and will tell you were to get out.

You can see the water residing. It was obviously way above that a few hours ago if you look at the trees and see the ones that have been snapped off. Also look at the water line in the tree to the right that is still standing.

Will not be floating the Comal or lower Guadalupe for awhile! Friend of mine pulled an 11 yr old girl out of Guadalupe near common street bridge (in town). She had washed down from Camp Hueco Springs (on river road) and did not know where her parents were!! Please Pray!!
