Default A Texas Star Build

I want to build a Texas Star, so hear we go.

This is what I want

So I pulled out some old lumber and ran it though the planner and jointer hit the table saw for length and with for the 10 outside, 10 middle, and 10 center pieces

Cut the angels on all the points of the outside, middle, and center

Ran a grove in the center star

Started putting some of the 30 pieces together, and yes I have a long way to go but I will get there. That is all for now, I will continue later this week hopefully

Well I made it come together, wanted to share the rest of the story. So the next step was to cut the inside angles on the center Star

Then the inside angles on the mid and outside star

Glue the center star together and the outside star together, put both together and you have a Texas Star made out of old wood that should have been in the trash can

This is a pic of the one I made out of good wood Center and Outside is Mesquite the middle is Maple

Thanks for all the kind words, as far as the plans there are none at this time. The first one I built with a guy that had built them before and I took notes and went straight home and built my own. And as far as selling them I will but not yet, I have not come up with the price list. What a fun project and so many different ways to display the star, I will post some different ones later. And by the way the first set of pics with angles are 36 d bevel on a 23 d angle-- the next set of angles are 126 d that is the best info to know

That is by far the best star of any kind I have ever seen! Can't let my wife see this, she has a star theme going on in the house.

a pic from the shop after adding a little stain to both of those stars, I like the looks of the Mesquite better with the stain.

Hear are a couple made out of Barn Wood one being 18" with the center and outside edge only and the other is 26" with all three levels. The great thing about these is no sanding or staining. And hey Baslacker one of these mite in up in the camp house

It's a old post, but shows the talent the green screen hides. Sure wish there was a plan on these. I would like to build a few, but the angles scare the **** out of me.
