Default All packed up for Africa

They say to take pics of all your bags and gear for your travels. Well I packed it up before I remembered, but I took pics of my bags in case they get lost. I'm not sure if I will get to take all that's in them due to the weight, but I'll find that out tomorrow. Good thing we are packing "light" as you don't need much there b/c they wash all your stuff. Ha ha! I can barely pick the stupid cabelas bag up. Something is wired in my brain to not go half way around the world on a trip of a lifetime with 3 outfits and my bow.

I am hunting with the American Agent of Orion adventures (www.orionhunting.com) and the African Outfitter is Thabazimbi Bushveld Safaris (www.africabowhunt.com). Supposed to be a five star trip.

I hope to return, and hope to return with a ton of pictures and LDP's. Hoping to kill 2 warthogs, 2 impalas, Kudu, Gemsbok, Eland, Waterbuck, and a Zebra. That list may change when I get there, and I may not have a opportunity at all of them, but I am going to give it hell trying. Hoping to kill all quality animals and not kill something just b/c I want one if it is just Ok quality wise.

You pack like an AGGIE!! Good luck, Brett!! I'm very jealous, but can't let Kim know that.......since we just spent two weeks in Italy.....doing what old married couples are suppose to do!

Research the Airline's guidlelines for "overweight" baggage. I was very shocked and ****** in Europe to get nailed $155 US for an extra 20lb. carry-on bag.

Have a great trip and shoot straight!

Your going to love it Brett. The place is 5 star all the way, and it's a very target rich enviroment. Shoot straight and tell Peiter that Matt and Kim said hey. Peiters the big guy in the middle of the photo attached. BTW, if you make a poor shot and the PH and trackers start speaking Afrikan<sp>, yes they are talking bad about you, but don't take it personally.

Good luck Brett! 3 outfits is all you will need once in camp. Your list looks great, but I would add a Blesbok if you get a chance at one. They are a very cool antelope.

On the big bag, you are allowed up to 50lbs free and then up to 70lbs for another $50 if you are flying SAA or Delta.

I weighed my bags today:
Bow case and assorted goodies- 42lbs
Large checked bag and goodies- 69lbs

Brett, that Cabelas bag of yours, do you know which one it is exactly? Have a link?

Awesome! Wish you a great safari and I know you will make many wonderful memories!
I would recommend taking a journal to make notes about the days events. You memory will be in overdrive and your notes will come in handy after you return.
Listen to your PH when it comes time to make the decision to take a shot or not.
I agree with Peyton about the blesbok. I decided on the last day to go after one and they make a really cool addition to your trophy room.
Good luck and I hope you can sleep on the flight over!

Thanks to all. I promise to deliver some pics and stories when i return.

Tyge, not sure which cableas bag you re talking about. but here are the links to both of them.

Big Brown bag
http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/te...128&hasJS=true

and the backpack.
http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/te...770&hasJS=true

BD chorn, that is a double bow case from Cabelas too. It's a tank, but it has wheels on it which makes it very nice and easy to carry around.
here is the link.
