Default This Bud's For You, Bud

You can't make this stuff up. This welded steel memorial is at the Lynch Cemetery just north of Lake Tawakoni in Rains County, Texas. "This Bud's For You, Bud" is cut into the crescent shaped steel. It is signed "Love Jason." Hanging from that are various steel hand tools welded to chain links. Atop the crescent sign is a custom welded beer holder. In the holder is an unopened can of Budweiser! All this is welded to a steel hoop, which is buried in the ground at the foot of Bud's grave.

Feel free to post your pictures of unusual headstones or memorials to this thread. Mindy and I run across a few while geocaching.

That's kind of cool. Makes me wonder what the story behind it is. Probably just some beer drinking buddies that used to hang out at the shop together fixin' stuff.

I'm not a fan of Budweiser, but I have to admit that's pretty awesome.

My dad has been a gravedigger for 30 years. On the weekends I help him and my brother occasionally when they are too busy. We did a funeral in a small town. I guess the guy was a drinker and his fellow drinkers showed up, drinking. They put six packs of all kinds of cheap beer in the casket, packs of cigs. Somebody said did anybody give him a lighter, and one guy had to run out to his car to get a lighter to put in the casket.

Sort of a this buds for you story....

This one is fairly famous, I think. It's at a cemetery in Paris, Texas.

Supposedly, it's Jesus... in cowboy boots. There is a cross, but I'm not totally convinced the person in the statue was meant to be Jesus. Anyway, still unusual.
