Absolutely, you need a rider on your camera gear if it is worth anything at all. If not, you will be surprised at how much the insurance companies do not cover.

      Good reminder......

Every insurer calls it something slightly different.

It is by Endorsement to your Homeowners or Renter's Policy.

      I'm with ANPAC (American National)

Mine is called Scheduled Personal Property -- Class Code 3 for Cameras and Projection Equipment.

I have listed every filter, strap, remote trigger, battery, memory card (and even listed the Crumpler Bag) it all lives in.
Just the extra stuff when I added it all up was close to a thousand bucks !

All covered, for all perils, with no deductible - for $48 a year. It was a no-brainer.

Need to get this done. Wouldnt hurt to add a little to my homeowners for my guns as well. I think I'm over my limit.

I got my camera stuff covered a while back. Pretty painless. I need to do the same for my guns as well Travis.

That's nice to have, but if you do make a claim on it wouldn't your insurance rate go up?

I made an $800 claim last fall and nothing happened to my premiums.
