    Kayak in Trash DIY

I have always wanted a kayak, just could not justify buying one... being year and half into married life, bought 1st house, and most recent little girl on the way!

Anyways, couple weeks ago I drove passed a kayak set out for bulk trash in my neighborhood. It had a large crack on back of seat and small hole in bottom i picked it up and did some research on how to repair.

Repair begins... used heat gun to heat strips of a tan 5 gallon bucket and the crack / holes of kayak and bonded them together. See pic #1 for reference of bonded crack on the back of yak seat.

Next i sanded and prepped the top of yak for priming and paint. Think my first go at DIY camo turned out great.

Last were the accessories, new seat, paddle (also camo'd this), gear basket, added 2 rod holders, retractable close line anchor system, anchor trolley and some leashes. youtube helped is where i got idea for retractable close line anchor and trolley system

Hope you guys like it, wish i would have taken more step by step pics but i got carried away with the progress i was making. Yet to get out in water but intend on doing some East TX fishing this weekend in it
