Siesta Key Vacation!

We have finally arrived for our summer vacation in Siesta key Florida. We left Houston yesterday and drove to Mobile and stayed the night. We got up and drove another 9 hrs today to Siesta key. The water is so amazing! My boys and I will start getting some fishing in on Tue-Thu morning. This is our first trip to Florida. I will post up more pics as the week progresses

We have a canal to fish right across from our condo! Just have to get non resident license tomorrow and we will hit the surf a couple mornings before the beach crowd.

Siesta key has some of the prettiest beaches I've been too!!

Heck with that! There's probably some snook in that backwater somewhere! I landed one about 5 pounds when I was there and would have sworn it weighted 20 pounds if it got off!

After talking with a few locals, seems like we are here just at the right time to catch snook in the surf. Catch and release only this time of year but we should be able to get on some.

Hit the surf this evening to kill a little time. Kids caught a few jack and lady fish. We will be back in the surf right at sun up in the morning. Hopefully we get on a few snook we will be heading out on a 4 hr boat tour tomorrow to go snorkeling and stuff and parasailing on Thursday.
