How long does it take? Is there any worries on fuel?

I always like to fill up at one of the four gas stations on the island. I've never had fuel issues, maybe if driving was real bad and 4x4 low all the way, and you drive all the way to the jetties (60 miles) might run low on fuel.

Fuel up before you hit the sand. Depending on your set up and how large fuel take you have. You can end up with fuel issues. Drive low tide. High tide is soft sand slow driving, sucking fuel.

I’m a newb to all this. When are the low and high tide times??
Basically what everyone has already said is mostly true. Every holiday is different though. I did a multiple day trip on 4th of July and we were almost alone down there. On busy weekends I like to go at least 30 miles down. The worst of the driving is between 20-30. If I was you I wouldnt worry about the crowds. Just drive down till you find a spot you like and get after it.
