    **Grilled..................** (cant believe I did this)

    My neighbor brought me some OKRA from his garden the other day. Now I love me some okra, pickled,fried, boiled, stewed......never had it grilled.till now

    Looked at a few recipes that would fit my diet, and heres what I got:

    Take Okra whole
    Put on Skewer
    lightly coat with EV olive oil
    Dust with salt and pepper (I go easy on salt, and used fresh ground pepper

    Place on grill med/high heat for 4-5min per side

    Very suprised
    If you like okra, give it a try for a healthy change of pace, and possibly a new favorite way to cook them.

      the key is the fresh craked pepper. love picked okra

        Key: dont cut the ends off, if the seed cavity meets air, that will cause slim.

            Not a fan of okra at all, mainly because I watched my mom cook it as a kid. The slime turned me off forever. However, I'm about all things grilled, and this does sound good to me. If grillin changed my thoughts on asparagus, it could do the same for okra. I'll give it a try.

                        A quik way to make okra.
                        Cut in half long ways. Put cut side up on plate with a wet papertowel on it. Sprinkle tony "c" on it to your taste. Microwave 3 minutes or so. Less if you like crunchy or more for softer. It is very good and not slimy at all. About the only way I make it now. I make plates of this and the guys at work tear it up, even those that swear they dont like okra.

                          grilled okra. gonna have to try this. we grill all kinds of veggies but aint never tried okra. next day off i get, im gonna give it a whirl!

                          bet it would be good wrapped in bacon with melted cheese on top!

                              What part of okra is the nastiest? The slime, or the hair?

                              It always made me think I was eating a hairy tadpole or something.

                              If you can burn the hair off of it on the grill, and then keep the inside from going slimy, well that might be worth eating.
