Looks good I have a shop built one and love it. The only down fall to mine is its so heavy. I plan on building a another one that the bottom bolt is a pin so I can take the platform up by itself and pin it there.

May be a dumb question but, couldn't the gusset and tree bracket deal be built underneath to make more room for your feet and allowing the seat to be moved closer to the tree??

in the pictured configuration, the force/weight of the hunter is similar to a pendulum hanging down. if the tree bracket was below the stand, it would be as if the pendulum was upside down. the force/weight of the hunter above the pivot point would cause extra stress and likely less stable.

How big is your platform and how much do you think they weigh?

Platform is 28"... I will run the numbers and calculate what it weighs, it not too light but I don't move my stands a lot once I get them in the tree
