Think the natural disclaimer is .. none of those broadheads were designed to go through metal.. and metal has obvious and apparent different characteristics that would allow pass through.
the mechanicals have an obvious disadvantage as the metal characteristics destroy the opening and pivot mechanisms upon impact.
The plunger one is the obvious proof of this

I would have rather seen this amount of effort (and money) go into testing this into ballistics gel, which would more accurately depict how these broadheads were designed to be used.

I think the obvious intent of the video is to show durability of the heads, nothing more. As expected, the fixed blades won that contest hands down. I think it's reasonable to assume you could have siomilar results if you hit a major bone in an animal.

I considered this useful ... Similar if the broadhead hit bone. And as mentioned above it shows the durability of the heads.

Still none the less. Seeing the destructive action is cool

Yup. good to know if that big one comes out wearing a 50 gallon drum, the strikers will get decent penetration.

Very interesting. Not sure that it simulates anything in hunting, but fun to watch.

Agree, always been a fan of fixed blade broadheads (specifically Muzzy); of course we're not shooting at live metal barrels. Appreciate the video, my favorite game is elk and their rib cages seem to have similar characteristics, tough boogers.

Probably would apply to my bear hunt this year. I hit my bear square in the left shoulder and punched through the left side bone and into the right. No damage to the Buzzcut.

Actually done this with a couple of cheap broadheads I found in th camp trailer we inherited from previous leasees...the broadheads held up fine, but my arrow shattered after the second shot thru the barrrel.

I thought it was a good video that shows the durability of the broadheads. I am not a fan of mechanicals. Had bad luck a couple of times.

the fixed blades definatly outshined the mechanical.. I could see how a fixed blade would be useful on bone
