Odd redfish...320ish spots.

Ok so I’m an offshore fisherman, not really a bay fisherman...actually this is the first redfish I have caught in years.

I was messing around with my deckhands bay rod in a boat slip and this thing bit. We took some pics because we thought it was a cool looking fish then I released it and didn’t think twice about it.

Again I don’t mess around in the bay much but apparently after talking to some people that many spots is pretty rare.

Is this what they call a leopard redfish?

WoW. I fish for reds and have never seen one like that. Most have been 4 spots

Leopard reds have a black spot on every scale. Your fish is very cool tho.

Looks like you got some good pictures and could have a replica made. That’s is a sweet looking red. They are pretty rare to have that many spots.
