You can't spend bond money on salaries or personnel. Oklahoma didn't pass a teacher pay raise bill and now plans on putting forth a bill that will cut education funding. The formula will be reduced by $13 per kid. We just passed a local bond for $17 million for a new Jr. High and remodeling the football field. We can not use any of that money to pay teachers.

But we pay millions to athletes.....smh.....priorities in this country are all bass ackwards!

I mean nothing negative by calling them sheep. To me it is like the pretty, blue robin’s egg. Inside it is soft and gooey but someday it will grow into something wonderful. But the egg cannot survive without its hard blue shell. Police officers, soldiers, and other warriors are like that shell, and someday the civilization they protect will grow into something wonderful.? For now, though, they need warriors to protect them from the predators.

You better believe it. There are evil men in this world and they are capable of evil deeds. The moment you forget that or pretend it is not so, you become a sheep. There is no safety in denial.

If you have no capacity for violence then you are a healthy productive citizen, a sheep. If you have a capacity for violence and no empathy for your fellow citizens, then you have defined an aggressive sociopath, a wolf. But what if you have a capacity for violence, and a deep love for your fellow citizens? What do you have then? A sheepdog, a warrior, someone who is walking the hero’s path. Someone who can walk into the heart of darkness, into the universal human phobia, and walk out unscathed.

Another contributing factor that can't be overlooked is the movies and video games that glorify violence. Many people are unable to determine the difference from fiction and non-fiction.

They have been saying that forever really. Your last sentence is a problem. That’s a mental health issue. Not a movie watching issue.

Take someone with mental health issues and have their parents throw them in front of a tv and video game console for the majority of their lives and see what happens. Desensitization. That’s what happens. Kill thousands of people a day on video games instead of interacting with real people. The value of life becomes skewed.

We would do more to solve this issue in this country by outlawing gaming consoles than we would by making guns illegal.

Cue the grown “men” who play video games......

Take someone with mental health issues and have their parents throw them in front of a tv and video game console for the majority of their lives and see what happens. Desensitization. Anyone who goes in there probably won’t have to wonder which teachers are armed because the vast majority of them are. I don’t worry nearly as much about my boys as I would if they were in a school where the teachers were unarmed.
