I've been thinking about doing this for a while, and decided today was the day. I have the Elite/Stokerize stabilizer, and covered it in rattlesnake skin I tanned a year plus ago (also on DIY on a project making belt buckles). Pictures tell the story, only thing not photographed was I put 6 coats of Krylon Matt clear spray on the snake skin on the stabilizer to protect it from damage when I'm hunting.
The spray contact cement gave me time to stretch the skin into position, and stuck really well.
I carry my bow by the string with the stablizer down, and it gets dragged through grass and underbrush since we primarily hunt spot and stalk or hide behind a bush for a ground blind.
