I have a buddy in Kyle, TX area who is looking for a place to rifle hunt. He can't afford a lease but wants to hunt deer. Anyone know a place he can hunt that isn't too far from Kyle, TX?

Not any public places that I know of to hunt deer with a rifle in central Texas except for the public drawn hunts. Too late to get drawn but you can go on standby for any of them. There is a buck hunt at Honey Creek Dec 10-14. There are several anterless hunts at Guadalupe SP, Honey Creek, Inks Lake and Perdaneles Fall through Dec and Jan. Those are the closest ones but plenty of others.
