    Tractor/disc question

Dad is looking at the New Holland Workmaster 75 4wd. Question..would 75hp be big enough to pull a 9 foot disc or should we stick with 8 ft?

75 is plenty for 9' disc.

What kind of disc. Offset? I pull a 9' offset with a 82 hp Kubota 4wd and it will make that tractor strain. Also pull a 12' leveling plow same tractor no problem.

4WD will help a lot, 75HP will pull a 12' but in sandy soil it can be a little heavy.

Should be plenty and then some. Unless you've got gumbo clay or you are really wanting to tear some ground aggressively. Short of that I think it's a great match.

That tractor will have no problem with that disc. I pull a 8' 2" Athens 55 disk that weighs 1321 lbs. with my 52 hp John Deere 5210.

I pull a similar disk with a 50 hp Massey.
