I remember watching that with my daughter and one of the guys hooked a thresher shark and they started yelling back and forth about it. My daughter looked at me and said; "daddy, what's a thresha shack?" Still laugh at her about it.

Do these blue fin in the gulf carry the fat content that other places do to make them marketable? Are they good to eat ?

Piilar same fish. They are just passing through. I would imagine the GOM limit will be gone quickly. I know last year some guys killed one they fought for over 20 hours and when they got it up it was a Bluefin. Feds said limit was reached and couldn't bring it in. I imagine they ate all they could and left it floating.

Having caught around 15 giant bluefin, I can tell you there is no other fish that fights like them. They are incredible! The power is unreal. Truly a test of angler and equipment.

I don't have it in me to fight anything for 20hrs

I think I would be breaking that law.
Stupid to let something waste like that

A few years ago my little boy was hooked up to a ling and when I asked him how it was going he yelled that out. Still cracks me up hearing a little white bread south Texas kid screaming like a north easterner.
