Big difference in shop welder and field welder with no benefits. Yes welders in the plants make $36 hr but they have rain outs , no vacation or sick time , and are constantly moving from job to job.

They sometimes do a tour of the buildings. You can walk through and see the whole facility.

Yes. You have to work the position you have for 1 year then you can bid on jobs to move around.

Age discrimination is illegal and I doubt a major employer like GE is willing to play that game. Geaux for it!!!!
